Navjot Singh Sidhu resigns from his post

Punjab Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned as cabinet minister. Sidhu had sent a letter of resignation in the name of Rahul Gandhi on June 10, which he tweeted today. However, the Punjab Chief Minister's Office has not confirmed it.

The CMO said no such resignation has been received. In another tweet, Sidhu said that he will submit his resignation to CM Captain Amarinder Singh. A month ago, Captain Amarinder Singh changed his department. Sidhu was a local body minister, the Captain had changed the cabinet after the Lok Sabha elections and entrusted him with the responsibility of the energy minister, but Sidhu was angry. He had not yet taken over as energy minister.

According to media reports, Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu became active on social media for the first time since June 9 after souring his relationship with Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and changing his portfolio. Sidhu had been missing from state politics for quite some time. He was absorbed in penance in the house of Mata Vaishno Devi in the last days. Two ministers were outraged by the change in the Cabinet by the Captain. Apart from Sidhu, op-ed was Sony. Though Soni took over a few days later, there was confusion about Sidhu from the beginning. A few days after the results of the Lok Sabha elections came, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had changed the portfolios of 13 ministers. The most annoyed were the then local body minister Navjot Sidhu and Education Minister OP Soni. The rest of the ministers took over the responsibility of their new portfolio, but Sidhu did not take over even after more than a month. Sidhu's displeasure was directly with the chief minister. There was a long-standing confrontation between Captain and Sidhu, but the confrontation escalated in the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections. At the Bathinda rally, Sidhu had targeted the CM, and after the Lok Sabha elections, the Captain targeted Sidhu as a non-performing minister. Even the captain's closest minister was blind-eyed at Sidhu.
