Bison Polo : Yet to be finalised by the Central Government

Hyderabad, January 30: On Tuesday, the Telangana High Court dismissed the petition filed for permission to build a secretariat at Bison Polo Ground. It s been known that some of the citizens filed a complain when Telangana Government announced the thought of building a new secretariat in Baisen Polo Grounds stating it as a playground. With the high Courts decision, Telangana Government is happy and hoping to get permission from Central in the next two weeks.

But the central Government declared that while it had given in-principle approval for the takeover of the Bison Polo Ground and Gymkhana Ground by the Telangana government to construct its new Secretariat, the deal was not final yet. The Central stated that the compensation for land transfer is yet to be finalized.

According to media reports, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in 2017 had said that the Centre wanted around 596 acres of land in Jawahar Nagar at the outskirts of Hyderabad to be transferred to the Ministry of Defence (MoD) besides a one-time compensation of Rs 95 crore and an additional payment of Rs 31 crore to the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) to make up for its revenue loss in giving up the twin grounds.

The court after hearing both parties asked them not to start any construction till final judgment. and the next hearing was postponed to February 12th.

But critics are saying that there is no need to build a new secretariat a the current one is absolutely fine and the Telangana Government is just planning for a new Secretariat just to adjust Vaastu.
