Kolkata, Feb 18: Seventeen political parties, including the Left Front partners, on Saturday brought out a rally in south Kolkata demanding Mamata Banerjee government withdraw a law that seeks to penalise persons and groups for damaging public property.The rally, led by Left Front spearhead Communist Party of India-Marxist, raised slogans demanding a repeal of the "black law" -- West Bengal Maintenance of Public Order (Amendment) Bill, 2017.They also demanded that the government stop arresting the leaders of a recent protest movement in South 24 Parganas district s Bhangar against a Power Grid Corporation project.The rally began from Golpark-Gariahat junction and ended at Jatin Das Park in the Hazra area.Left Front Chairman Biman Bose, CPI-M leaders Asim Dasgupta and Rabin Deb, and front rankers of Communist Party of India, All India forward Bloc, Revolutionary Socialist Party, Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist), Communist Party of India-Marxist Leninist (Liberation) and other outfits took part in the rally that created a big traffic snarl in parts of south Kolkata
