While America rejects Britain welcomes

Hyderabad, February 7: The British universities are offering 198 scholarships worth of Rs. 8.4 crore to study in 40 universities across Britain this year.They want to encourage the best talent from India. The scholarships range from art and design, engineering, law and management, British Council Director Mei-kwei Barker said at a press conference here on Monday.These are in addition to the Chevening Scholarships for working professionals funded by various organizations. The India Programme is the world s largest with a budget of £2.6 million (Rs. 21.8 crore) for 2016-17 with 130 scholarships being offered.The British Council will host Study UK: Discover You Exhibition At Taj Vivanta, Begumpet on February 7 between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Visitors will get to directly talk to representatives from 20 UK universities and get all their questions answered on course choices, visas, applications and scholarships. and more Career seminars on MBA, IT and Engineering, will be held. She said the British Council has also launched a mobile app — Study UK Discover You Exhibition 2017 — to help students plan their visit to the education exhibitions effectively.
