Surjit Singh Barnala passes away

Chandigarh, Jan 14 Former Punjab Chief Minister and Governor of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh Surjit Singh Barnala died here on Saturday following a brief spell of illness. He was 91.Barnala, who was Punjab Chief Minister from 1985 to 1987, was admitted to the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) recently where he breathed his last on Saturday.Barnala had remained Governor of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Uttarakhand between 2000 and 2011.
