President Kovind attends 9th National Voters’ Day celebrations

Delhi, January 25: 9th national Voters Day celebrations started in Manekshae Centre, Ram Nath Kovind(Honorable President), attended the Ceremony as the Chief Guest. Umesh Sinha(Senior Deputy Election Commissioner), Ashoka Lavasa(Election Commissioner), Ravi Shankar Prasad(Minister of Law and Justice), Sunil Arora(Chief Election Commissioner) were sharing the stage with The President in this ceremony. The ceremony started by lighting the delightful lamp by Chief guest.


National Voters Day or Rashtriya Matdata Diwas is celebrated on 25th Jan. 25th January is the foundation day of the Election Commission of India (ECI) which came into existence in 1950. It has been started from January 25, 2011, to mark Commission s foundation day. The significance of National Voters Day is to encourage more young voters to take part in the political process. 6 Citizens of India who were been added in the Voters list will be given Voter Id cards today in this function. The Theme of this National Voter s day is " No Voter to be Left Behind".
