PM-led team sensational decision against Alokverma

New Delhi, January 11: As we know that Alok Verma rejoined in his duty on Tuesday (January 8), within 24 hours of getting his job back as the CBI director, Alok Verma was out of it. The prime minister-led three-member panel on Thursday removed Alok Verma.


Alok Verma, a 1979-batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer, was shunted out of the post on charges of corruption and dereliction of duty. The removal was not without politics and acrimony. The Supreme Court had faulted the manner in which Verma was sent on leave on the basis of the CVC recommendation on October 23 last year and asked the three-member panel with PM, CJI and Congress leader in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge as members.


Varma, who was in charge of the court orders, was transferred along with two Joint Directors and five officers. The Center's security which was in the hands of Delhi police, assuming there might be protests and dharnas for this decision, As Opposition expresses anger for political discrimination against Verma.
