New Delhi, December 28: India’s one of the biggest political party, Congress is celebrating its 134th foundation day on Friday. The Congress was founded by a British civil servant Allan Octavian Hume on December 28 in 1885. Congress president Rahul Gandhi hoisted National flag at party Headquarters in New Delhi and paid his respects to the long history of the vibrant political movement. To mark the celebrations, Former Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh and Rahul Gandhi also cut a cake.
Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor posted cake cutting ceremony of Rahul Gandhi and Manmohan Singh in Twitter. Senior Congress leaders including Kapil Sibal, Shashi Tharoor, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma and other attended the event.

The Congress said it will stand by values of non-violence, quoting in another tweet words of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, the first Home Minister of India, where he said, “the measure of our non-violence will be the measure of our success”.In another tweet, it quoted the ideal of “love and sacrifice” for the country espoused by Sarojini Naidu, an eminent poetess, freedom fighter and Congress leader.
