Tammineni denies BLF is helping TRS indirectly

Hyderabad, Nov 21: CPI (Marxist) State secretary and Bahujan Left Front (BLF) convenor Tammineni Veerabhadram on Tuesday refuted the charge that the BLF was indirectly helping the Telangana Rashtra Samiti as its candidates in different constituencies would split votes of the opposition.

Mr. Veerabhadram said BLF was the first to highlight failures of the K. Chandrasekhar Rao caretaker government and it had been raising its voice against the exploitation of resources by the Chief Minister and his family.

"The BLF is for defeat of the ruling party. But, it is not in favour of aligning with the Congress, which is responsible for the backwardness of Telangana," he said.

Participating in the Meet-The-Media programme, Mr Veerabhadram said the CPI(M) had resolved against having any political understanding with the Congress and the same policy had been adopted for the elections.

"The CPI s decision to align with the Congress will be suicidal for the Left movement. Defeating the TRS is the prime agenda, but we cannot side with parties like Congress."
