Six from Telangana get Padma Shri

Hyderabad, Jan 26: Padma Awards - one of the highest civilian Awards of the country, are conferred in three categories, namely, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. The Awards are given in various disciplines/ fields of activities. Six people from difference fields, who are selected for Padma Shri awards 2017 to Telangana, India s fourth highest civilian honour, will receive awards.Out of 25 names recommended for Padma Awards this year by Telangana state government, six noted personalities have been selected for the prestigious award including 1)Chadrakant Pithawa (Science and Engineering) 2)BVR Mohan Reddy ( Trade and Industry) 3)Dr Prof Aekka Yadagiri Rao (Art-Sculpture) 4)Daripalli Ramaiah (Social work) 5)Chintakindi Malleshan (Weaving Machine innovation) 6)Mohammed Abdul Waheed (Medicine).
