Job mela got huge crowd in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, January 22: A total of 15,000 job-seekers attended the second job mela of the Ministry of Labour and Employment in the city, this time at Keyes High School, Secunderabad, on Saturday.The first mela was conducted at Nizam college grounds. A total of 100 companies attended the mela on the first day and are expected to stay on for the second day. The event will add on to 290 such fairs held across the country by the same Ministry. In the previous melas, a total of 49,500 vacancies in the private sector were identified and placement letters were given to candidates. The candidates are currently at various stages of the screening process.Speaking at the inaugural function of the meet, Union Minister for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya said skill development was important in employability. Under the skill training scheme of the union government, over 1 lakh youth from the State were trained.
