Errors in Power bill - meter units and bill units are different

Hyderabad, January 20: A resident of Khairatabad was shocked after seeing his house electricity bill. It was raised unexpectedly.This hiking is not because of usage of units. He has received the bill and had a suspect about the bill. He observed the bill thoroughly coz he doesn t use many units in that month.Finally, he found the mistake.i.e, the consumption of 19,738 units was replaced by 19,784 units, Then electricity bill was raised. It was the mistake of placing more no. of units replacing actual units in a billing machine.In somajiguda, A consumer was fixed a new meter in the last month.He doesn t receive the electricity bill since 3 months.After that, Suddenly he receives the bill with the usage of 400 units, which results in thousands of rupees shown in the bill. In next month s bill was shown that The home consumed below 100 units itself.Then, the consumer wants correction about the bill and meet the staff of power distribution branch.There are so many errors and irregularities are happening in the electricity bills till now. To avoid these mistakes, DISCOM already implemented a remedy, which consists of Infrared Data Association(IRDA) are fixed with meters in a few years ago.Possibly, this process will be done up to now, But It was still in continuing state in the city.There is one more aspect,i.e, There is no linking between infrared meters and billing machines. However, These evidences for Many irregularities in electricity bill.Generally, the staff will enter the meter no and units no in machines by seeing meters, which were kept at above the entrance height. So, there are chances to enter the wrong details, which may result hiked (or) lowered bill to the consumers. Hence, they took it as an advantage, they were combined with billing officers and tried to illegal consumption of power.To prevent this regards, DISCOM made some changes in the billing system, which turns into digitalization means, when a billing mission kept near to infrared meter, the data will be noted automatically.These errors in billing systems makes more trouble for public.In both cities Hyderabad, Rangareddy, totally 41 lakhs of connections are held, 30 lakhs of connections having automatic billing meters. Only 9% of IRDA meters were not used because more meters were burned. The lack of complaints were filed at DISCOM offices.
