Anantapur district is said to be one of the strongholds for Telugu Desam Party in Rayalaseema region. However, the yellow party won just two out of the total 14 MLA seats in this district in 2019 election.
TDP star campaigner Nandamuri Balakrishna won from Hindupur constituency and withstood a strong YCP wave.
Everyone expected Balakrishna to take the responsibility of rejuvenating the party in Anantapur district, but that is not the case now.
Balayya is nowhere to be seen in the political scene. He is not even interacting with Anantapur core-level TDP leaders.
Incidentally, Chandrababu is placing his trust on Paritala family and hoping that they will deliver the goods.
It looks like Chandrababu has sidelined Nandamuri Balakrishna at this crux stage in AP politics.
