PM Modi to address nation with 'important message'

New Delhi, Mar 27: Two weeks ahead of the commencement of polling, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing the nation shortly. I would be addressing the nation at around 11:45 AM - 12.00 noon with an important message.

Do watch the address on television, radio or social media. It is not known yet what the PM will talk about.

Seven-phased elections in the country will begin on April 11 and end on May 19. Counting of votes will take place on May 23. The tenure of the current government will end on May 22.

A cabinet meeting has taken place following a Cabinet Committee on Security. It is expected that Modi will speak as soon as the cabinet meet gets over, television reports said.

The last time Modi addressed the nation was on November 8, 2016, when he announced demonetisation or the overnight ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes.
