KNOW YOU CAN EAT HEALTHY ON LOW BUDGET

In these days, Health conscious is developing more in common man too. Eating healthy and including nutritious and superfoods in our diet have become a part of our life. Most of us spend about a large percent of our income as a budget for healthy food options. For the average middle-class family, that may be a very high budget for a month. There is a myth that eating healthy takes a bigger chunk out of the family income, but it's not true.

We must try to refuse the myth that healthy is expensive. Keeping food costs reasonable and healthy revolves around a few simple strategies. Preparation and planning are the most important things when you're trying to save money while eating healthfully and a lot of people struggle with it.

Here are some strategies for eating healthy on a budget:

1. SHOP IN SEASON: First know about the seasons for all fruits and veggies. In summer season fruits like strawberries, peaches, apricots, cherries, plums, and melons are easily available. They're not only at peak flavor but also abundant and typically lower in price.

2. BUY FAMILY PACKAGES: Buy family-size packages of lean meat and poultry and use them according to your daily limits. You can freeze them but be sure to check label and date.

3. GO FOR FROZEN ITEMS: When it comes to seafood, opt for canned or frozen to save your money and shelf life. Frozen fish fillets are typically individually wrapped, which means they stay fresher longer. For healthier choices, buy canned items packaged in water and frozen choices without breading or added salt.

4. REPURPOSE AND REINVENT: If your Bananas are too riped then use them for a smoothie or banana muffins. Make a pitcher of smoothies and freeze them in individual cups. Chop veggies ahead of time like green peppers and onions can be used in omelets, pizza or salads. If you do the chopping first then you will save money. Roast a chicken for a meal and use leftover meat in soups, chicken salads. Hard-boil a dozen eggs and use them for protein in a salad or a quick grab-and-go breakfast as boiled eggs can be put for five days in the refrigerator.

5. LOOK OUT FOR OTHER PROTEIN OPTIONS: Look for other foods besides meat for protein. You can save money using black beans, eggs, cheese, and tuna to cook or add to a salad.

6. COOK a LARGE AMOUNT: Make extras while you're cooking. It can save you time later. A big pot of soup can be frozen in individual portions.

7. FOODS YOU CAN FREEZE: There are some economical and healthy grocery items to keep in your refrigerator and freezer like brown rice, beans (especially black beans), bananas, whole-wheat pasta, romaine lettuce, skinless and boneless chicken breasts, skim milk, canned tomatoes, frozen blueberries, and eggs.
