KCR to inaugurate New MLA quarters

Hyderabad, January 23: Telangana Government planning to provide MLA quarters in Hyderabad, On this occasion , Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao along with Telangana Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy will inaugurate the 120 flats complex.

Srinivas Reddy who inspected the progress of works on Tuesday declared that the construction work has been completed and the complex will be inaugurated depending on the Chief Minister’s schedule. The State government had spent Rs 116 crore on construction of the quarters for MLAs, who will soon occupy the flats built in 2,500 sq yards area.

Speaking to media persons here today, Speaker said that the new quarters for the MLAs were built with modern facilities and ready to occupy. The government will soon open them and distribute among the MLAs, he said. All the 119 MLAs elected in the recent Assembly elections and a nominated MLA, will get the new quarters, he said.


Spread over 4.5 acres in the heart of the city, the New MLA quarters located at Hyderguda had been reconstructed after removal of old quarters. The 12-storied residential complex was constructed with 120 flats at a cost of Rs 166 crore. Each quarter comprises a three-bedroom flat with a built-up area of 2,100 square feet. Besides the main residential block, the gated community comprises around 120 servant quarters, 36 staff quarters, 23 rooms for visitors, a clubhouse, an office, and a supermarket. A three-storied cellar parking will be able to accommodate around 240 vehicles, was also constructed as part of the project.

He also advised the former legislators to vacate their quarters immediately to ensure that those who were elected in the recent Assembly elections, were given accommodation as per norms
