Panchayat Elections 1st phase completed

Hyderabad, January 22: Telangana s first phase Panchayat Elections are successfully done in 4479 Panchayats, in this elections TRS maintain the same speed as Assembly Elections.

In this elections one nomination in 9 panchayats was not filed yet, only one candidate in 9 panchayats filed nomination and they were unanimous. The remaining 3,701 Panchayats held the elections, the total of 85.76 percent voters exercised their franchise.

The ruling TRS supporters have united with 2,629 panchayats, so approximately 59% of sarpanches are owned by TRS, the Congress has secured its presence and won 920 panchayats by Congress supporters, so approximately 20% Panchayats have gone to Congress, BJP supporters won 67 Panchayats, CPM won 32, TDP 31, CPI 19, and independents won 758 Panchayats, for many reasons 14 Panchayat Elections have been stopped.
