According to officials, Nearly 2900 Nirbhaya cases have been raised in recent times. These Nirbhaya shelter victims get the counseling from the senior officials.

"Among the inmates at Nirbhaya homes, many children require counseling and health care to cruise through their phase of mental trauma. Of them, three girls who were pregnant had delivered in the last 10 days and one girl is in her last stages of pregnancy. Such girls require better health care, supplementary nutrition and proper facilities including garments which incur immediate expenditure. So the funds kept for the salary of the staff will have to be diverted for such medical exigencies and urgent life-saving measures," said one of the officials.
