Hyderabad March 09: Many activities were be conducted on 'Women's Day' to enhance and encourage the all the women's, all the women were enjoyed their day with a bright smile. Many celebrities wished every woman in the world to overcome the problem and to be the best in her life.

Rallies, seminars, training sessions and cultural programs marked the International Women's Day celebrations in all the five districts carved out of the erstwhile Warangal district on Wednesday, with women and girls participating in good numbers.

Warangal urban District Collector Amrapali K, Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) Commissioner Shruti Ojha, Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu and other officials took part in the celebrations organized by the Women Development and Child Welfare Department in association with the police, at the Police Parade Grounds in Hanamkonda. Scores of women and girls, who participated in the 5 km walk, were also taught self-defence techniques at a special session.



Speaking on the occasion, Amrapali called upon women to be bold to face any challenges. Urging women to overcome apprehensions, the Collector said women could do any job and excel like their male counterparts.

However, addressing women entrepreneurs at a seminar organized by the Centre for Women Studies and University College of Commerce and Business Management, on the Kakatiya University campus, Amrapali lamented that women were not getting due to priority in several fields including politics.

An awareness program was also held by the Agriculture Department for women farmers and farm workers at Narsampet town in Warangal rural district.

Addressing the gathering, State Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Peddie Sudarshan Reddy said women played a key role in getting good farm yield.

Listing out measures being taken by the State government for the welfare of farmers, he said, "The State government is offering 95 per cent subsidy on the price of tractors, rotavators, and other farm equipment to SC and ST farmers."
