3 Proffesors arrested for abusing girl students

Hyderabad, February 28: The Rachakonda police has booked a case against three assistant professors of a private engineering college who allegedly demanded sexual favors from girl students in return for giving them more marks.

The trio allegedly sent the girl students flirtatious and vulgar messages on WhatsApp. The students, who are pursuing courses in various branches of engineering at Brilliant Engineering College, alleged that the teachers made sexual overtures and used obscene language.

The students showed these messages to student leaders, who then organized a protest demanding the arrest of the three assistant professors for harassment.

On learning about the incident, SHE Teams intervened. They spoke to the students and identified the suspects as Venna Saidi Reddy, Gopi Reddy and Osman, all are aged between 30 and 35, and residents of LB Nagar.

The students showed their chat history to the SHE Team police, who found that the assistant professors were demanding sexual favours from the girls to give them more marks in exams. "One of the suspects was examination section in-charge," said a police official.

Abdullapurmet SI B. Sreenu said that the suspects have been stalking the girls on social media. "For the past four months, they have been harassing the students. A case has been booked against them under section 354 of the IPC and investigation is on," he said.
