Rs.2,247 Cr of package to farmers : Palaniswami

Chennai, Feb 22: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami has been taken a great decision on Tuesday, which is very helpful to farmers.To stop the farmer suicides, he was taken a lead to help them.

He announced that, Rs 2,247 crores of financial package for drought-hit farmers in the state.

Palaniswami said in a statement that he ordered the compensation towards the cost of inputs incurred by the farmers.And also gave the instructions to the officials of Farmer association of the state to provide subsidies for seeds and pesticides and improve the water facility for crop fields.

He also said that, the bank accounts of the farmers will be credited with their eligible amount.Allot the justified prices for the crops and makes them get profits to the farmers.

Palaniswami said crop insurers have been asked to settle the crop loss claims from the farmers at the earliest.
