Hyderabad, February 14: Telangana's Industry and IT Minister K T Rama Rao told that, "We are taking the assistance of ICRISAT to increase the usage of technical knowledge in the Agriculture sector".

The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) has been set up an iHub aiming to provide space for agricultural entrepreneurs, scientists, and technology experts for innovative work in the field of agriculture on Monday.

According to an official release, Minister K T Rama Rao and Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy launched the iHub at ICRISAT.

Science cannot be for the sake of science and unless it changes things on the ground for the common person we cannot say that we've been able to make a social and economic impact," KTR said.

He also said that, "We will provide the partnership with students, who are learning the higher studies to bring the changes in cultivational methods. We will encourage the members, who have the own cultivating process by using new techniques", he added

An advisory council was set up with IT Secretary of Telangana Jayesh Ranjan, Microsoft India Managing Director Anil Bhansali, T-Hub Senior vice-President Rama Iyer and Telangana agriculture university Vice-Chancellor Praveen Rao as members.
