Amaravathi February 10: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has taken major decision to start 100 new gurukul schools for extending the benefit to 1 lakh students.

In a review meeting with Social Welfare department officials held at Velagapudi here on Thursday, the CM asked the officials to provide common hostel facility for SC, ST, and BCs.

The GOVT decided to arrange corpus fund to give bank guarantee for SC, ST students who want to study in foreign countries. The government would implement the biometric system in the gurukul schools from March 1.

The GOVT would lay the foundation stone on April 14 for Ambedkar memorial building which would be constructed in Amaravati capital city on the occasion of birth anniversary celebrations of Dr. Ambedkar.

Minister Ravela Kishore Babu, SC Finance Commission chairman Jupudi Prabhakar and several senior officials were also present at the meeting.
