IT raids on cashew nut agencies & Jewelry shops and hospitals

Srikakulam, February 8: The hospitals and gold shops and cashew nut agencies were attacked by the income tax raids simultaneously by the income tax official teams in Palasa town on Tuesday.

According to sources, 84 I-T officials from Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada and Vijayawada formed as 10 teams and conducted raids on 11 cashew nut agencies, three hospitals and one gold shop in Palasa town on receiving complaints.

The I-T official teams verified documents, bank accounts, business transaction details at cashew nut agencies and gold shop.

The department has noticed that some of the jewelers have been selling gold without a proper invoice issued to the buyer in gold shops.

The officials verified in patient and out patient records at three hospitals. The I-T official teams led by the principal commissioner of I-T Visakhapatnam region Ch Omkareswar conducted the raids.
