Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) now focused on Telangana

Hyderabad, January 12: In Telangana, The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will contest the 2019 elections and is confident of creating an impact in the State, Somnath Bharathi, South India in-charge of AAP said.

Speaking to the reporters along with AAP Telangana convenor, Prof. P.L. Vishweshwer Rao here, Mr. Bharathi said AAP will win the elections in Punjab and Goa. "We are focussing on Telangana as we want to capture the smaller states first," he said adding that, they want to stay away from bigger states as of now.

He said Telangana is a fertile ground for AAP as there is a vacuum here as people have lost confidence in Congress and BJP doesn’t believe in secular politics. He said the TRS government has utterly failed to fulfill the promises and address issues for which Telangana was formed.

Prof. Rao said that, "The Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao has the discretionary budget of Rs. 4,800 crore while the Scheduled Caste budget was Rs. 2,400 crore and the SC and ST sub-plan were Rs. 2,500 crore".

"No Chief Minister has such huge public money at his disposal. He is using it for religious and Vaastu beliefs", he alleged.

Prof. Rao said that demonetization has crippled the economy and all the sectors thereby affecting employment. Neither black money nor corruption has come down as being claimed by the BJP, he added.
