Cyberabad Police(SCSC) have launched a Child Care Response Centre to help children of Covid 19 patients

Hyderabad: In yet another proactive initiative to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, the Cyberabad Police along with the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) have launched a Child Care Response Centre here on Wednesday. Childcare centers and individual caregivers have been identified and verified to make it safe for children whose parents are under treatment for Covid-19.

Officials said there was a trend of young parents and nuclear families being affected. In most cases, either one or both the parents were hospitalized or in home quarantine. With no immediate relatives around, children were seen sharing the same facility or left alone at home unattended. The key feature of the initiative was verified and safe stay for children, psychological security for parent and child, basic childcare needs, child-friendly facility and caregivers apart from a round the clock care center with tie up with hospitals and doctors for health support.

At short notice, we could mobilize the resources and get a few facilities operationalized. There is a dedicated helpline once details are taken, our She Teams do a background check and safely reach the child or children of Covid affected parents to this facility, Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar said.

As we see many people using or in need of this service, we will scale up the facilities and provide assistance, he said, adding that the teams were doing their best to come up in assisting people with needs. Child Care Centers and individual caregivers can register through the official covid.scsc.in portal.

DCP (Women And Child Safety) C. Anasuya said She Teams along with SCSC teams would make the service available for children so that they also feel safe until their parents recover. For queries, those interested can contact the Helpline 08045811215 between 9 am and 6 pm.
