Twelve men in Tamil Nadu Namakkal district have been accused of repeatedly a 14-year-old girl over several months. Based on a complaint from the district child welfare officer, the Tiruchengode All Women Police filed charges against the twelve men for sexually abusing the minor.
An enquiry was initiated and eleven of the accused were arrested. The police are on the lookout for the twelfth accused.
The young girl had dropped out of school and was staying with her elder sister where she was raped by her sisters husband, Chinraj. Later, she was threatened and raped by three of his friends.
The survivor then went to work as a domestic worker in someones home. There, she was raped by her employer. Allegedly, money was paid to hush up the crime.
Some people from her village informed officials of the happenings based on which District Child Welfare Officer Ranjitha Priya then filed a complaint.
A police case has been registered against Chinraj, Kumar, Vadivel, Sundaram, Kannan, Panneer, Murthy, Abhi, Gopi, Sekhar, Shankar and Saravanan.
