A few days ago, there were rumors that TDP firebrand leader Akhila Priya would be joining the ruling party YSRC but that doesn't seem to be the case now.
Akhila Priya even campaigned for TDP candidates in the ongoing MPTC and ZPTC elections, which is a clear indication that she is staying in TDP.
It is being said that Akhila Priya did indeed try to join YSRCP but her proposal was rejected by the party chief YS Jagan.
It was expected that Jagan would welcome Akhila Priya into YSRCP given the respect he had towards the latter's mother Shobha Nagi Reddy who was once a trusted associate of Jagan. But for some reason, Jagan decided not to take Akhila Priya into his party, say reports.
So, Akhila Priya is left with no other option but to stay in TDP and she is active in the party again now.
