Neelam Sawhney as Special Election Commission Officer

The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has allotted the Special Election Commission Officer post to his trusted associate Neelam Sawhney.

The chief minister's office has issued an official announcement on the same a short while ago.


Sawhney is currently serving as the principal advisor to the chief minister and will be quitting this post and take charge as the SEC on 31st of this month.

The current SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh's tenure will be coming to an end on 31st March and Neelam Sawhney will be taking over the office on the very same day.

Interestingly enough, Nimmagadda refused to hold the MPTC and ZPTC elections despite being in power. This decision turned many heads.

However, we can expect Sawhney to hold the MPTC and ZPTC elections at the earliest.

The retired officer has been the principal adviser to Jagan soon after he was voted to power. She is one of his trusted associates.
