Varma faces Telangana HC Wrath for Murder!

Ram Gopal Verma, the name is synonymous with controversy and maverick behaviour. The film maker who went on to great height in his career also has seen the bad times. All these are because of his uncanny attitude towards people, society and the film industry.

RGV, as he is popularly known to all the people, makes it a point to be in news for good or bad reasons. It could be for a vague comment on a particular person or a serious observation on an event or just a blabber, everything is well recorded, followed and tagged by media.

He has once again ended up in trouble with a film titled 'Murder', which is alleged based on the Nalgonda honour killing episode. The girl whose husband was killed (being termed as honour killing) has lodged a complaint against RGV and the High Court of Telangana has taken RGV for a task! Justice MS Ramachandra Rao of the Telangana High Court on Monday reprimanded film maker Ram Gopal Varma for using actual names of victims in his movie – Murder. The movie is based on the honour killing of Pranay who was murdered by his wife's family in broad daylight.

Based on a petition filed by the victim's wife, the VII Additional District Judge Nalgonda directed the film maker to refrain from releasing the movie. Aggrieved by the same, Ram Gopal Varma approached the court. K Durga Prasad, counsel for RGV informed the court that the film was fictitious.

V Raghunath, counsel representing the victim's wife, submitted to the court a tweet by RGV that clearly mentions the actual names of all the parties involved. Justice Ramachandra Rao directed the petitioner to submit a copy of the script to V Raghunath taking him into confidence. The judge directed V Raghunath to go through the script and adjourned the matter to October 5.
