Shekar Kammula's father passes away!

Shekhar Kammula has become one of the respected directors of Telugu Cinema. He brought back the Independent spirit of Telugu Cinema with his unique voice in telling a story.


His films like Anand, Godavari, Happy Days, Fidaa became big hits at box office giving him space to tell his stories in his own unique way, without wondering about business.



His Leader became a fan favourite for all the film lovers of Telugu Cinema. His father, Kammula Sheshayya helped him in producing Anand, Happy Days and Life is Beautiful. He even appeared in few films.

Sheshayya aged 88 years, passed away on 1st August due to prolonged illness. He was admitted in a private hospital for several weeks and finally he succumbed to the illness.


Due to Covid pandemic, restrictions are imposed on public display of the body for well-wishers and the director's family is arranging for cremation following all Hindu rituals naar by their residence in Hyderabad.

We hope the family will find strength to overcome such profound loss and wish the director goes on to craft even better stories on screen as a tribute to his father's memory.
