Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar ready to take charge

Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar, who is getting ready to take charge again as State Election Commissioner on Monday, after the state government issued orders following the warning of the Supreme Court, is likely to damage the ruling YSRCP in several other ways.

Several YCP leaders and functionaries are likely to face severe condemnation by the Apex Court, following papers filed by Nimmagadda two days ago, responding to the state government's petition seeking stay on his contempt of court petition in the High Court.

In his petition, Nimmagadda mentioned how several YCP leaders adversely commented on the High Court judgment and campaigned against judges through social media referring to their caste and also threatening them. One of the social media sites named the High Court as a mafia'.

This was taken very seriously by Chief Justice Sharad Bobde and asked Nimmagadda's advocate Harish Salve to submit relevant papers. The statements of Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram, Govt chief whip Srikath Reddy and MLA Ambati Rambabu, besides several social media postings were also submitted to the court.
