India Covid Vaccine- How it works?

Many countries around the world are busy developing a vaccine against Coronavirus so that this pandemic is over for good, sooner, rather than later.

The vaccines developed by Moderna and Oxford University are one of the first vaccines to reach the phase of human trials. Also, the vaccine developed by Oxford University is the first one to enter the final stages of its trials this month.

Now, a potential vaccine that is being developed in India has finally gotten an approval for testing on humans. Named Covaxin, it is being developed by Bharat Biotech India Limited, in association with ICMR and National Institute of Virology.

The vaccine is an inactivated strain of the virus itself, obtained from an asymptomatic patient in May. When this strain is injected into a human, it doesn't replicate or infect the person. In turn, it acts as an antibody and boosts the body's immune system to fight against the virus.

The human trials are set to begin very soon at a high containment facility in Hyderabad, and hopefully, will give the best results as soon as possible.
