Latest update on coronavirus

The number of Coronavirus cases continue to increase at an alarming rate in India, with more and more people testing positive on a daily basis.


While the biggest jump was nearly 17,000 previously, the last 24 hours saw another record breaking jump, with 17,296 cases being reported in a single day. This took the total number of cases in India to 4,90,401.

Additionally, 407 fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 15,301.

On the other hand, the number of active cases stand at 1,89,463, while the number of recovered cases stand at 2,85,636. This takes the rate of recovery to 58.24%.

The health ministry has also said that the rate of recovery is increasing by the day, which is great. However, an increasing rate of recovery is itself not good enough for India to come out of this pandemic victoriously.

All of us have to be more careful, making sure that we don't come in contact with the virus by taking necessary precautions. That way, we can fight the virus in the best way.
