India dangerously close to 50,000

The number of new cases per day are increasing no matter what the government is doing to control the spread of the virus. With more and more tests being done, more and more people are testing positive.

The total number of Coronavirus cases in India now stand at 49,391, with 1,694 people dead. On the brighter side, the recovery rate is impressive, with 14,183 people having been cured and discharged.

The number of active cases stand at 33,514, and most of them are from India's metropolitan cities. The government of India has issued a total lockdown in all the Red zone districts of India, while a few relaxations have been given in Orange and Green zones.

On the other hand, the state of Telangana has further extended the lockdown till May 29th in the state, taking extra precautions.
