The state of Andhra Pradesh is continuing to see a rapid increase in the number of new cases with each passing day. The state started out with very few cases at the very beginning of the pandemic in India, but has been seeing an increased growth over the past one month.

A total of 10,292 samples were tested in the last 24 hrs, and 67 people have tested positive for the virus in that. This has now taken the total number of cases in AP to 1650.

Out of these 1650 cases, a total of 524 people have been cured and discharged, and 33 people have died. The total number of positive cases now stand at 1093.

The nationwide lockdown has been partially lifted in green and orange zones all over India, with the government giving permission for a few things, with strict guidelines. However, the Red zones are all under strict lockdown, just like before.

The lockdown in Red Zones would be lifted after May 17th, if the situation stabilizes, and if the intensity of the virus in the country reduces.
