New zonal system gets Approved

New zonal system which was proposed by the Telangana government has been finally approved by the centre on Thursday. Aiming to provide better employment opportunities to the people, the state Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao discussed the issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent visit to New Delhi.

The new zonal system has finally received the Presidential nod and is expected to come into effect with the issuing of a gazette notification soon.

President Ramnath Kovind gave his assent on Wednesday following which the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a gazette notification on Thursday. With the zonal system, the state government aims to enable 95% reservations to locals where employment opportunities in the public sector are concerned.

The zonal system is one of the key agendas of KCR's speech on September 2, when he plans to address a mammoth party meet in the outskirts of Hyderabad.
