Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy flagged off the procession in which Srinivas Yadav and other dignitaries took part.

The procession passed through main thoroughfares of City Light Hotel in Secunderabad and Kingsway Circle before reaching the temple. Since early morning, thousands of devotees stood in queues to have darshan of the Goddess Mahankali.

Long serpentine queues were seen from Ramgopalpet police station and General Bazaar areas. Clad in pattu saris, women residing in Secunderabad and its surroundings came to the temple and offered 'bonam'.

One of the notable features of the bonalu this time was that the festival was celebrated on the same days as happened 63 years ago.

The major temples of Goddesses Peddamma on RP Road, Renuka Yellamma near YMCA Secunderabad, Nalla Pochamma in Kalasiguda, Muthyalamma at Kummariguda and Gandi Maisamma in Rezimental Bazaar were decked up with colorful LED lights and flowers.
