Anchor Anasuya trolled for her dress sense

Hyderabad, July 28: Anchor Turned Actress Anasuya who was in full swing with her upcoming projects has recently visited Bhoodan Pochampally village, near Hyderabad and interacted with the world-famous weavers on Friday.

As part of Handloom Day celebrations on Aug 7, the Rangasthalam actress launched the 'Chenetha Panduga Cheddam – Chenetha Kalakarulanu Sanmaniddam' programme. She had also observed the various stages of spinning the yarn, making threads and then weaving the cloth.

A number of weavers interacted with her and explained to her the process of weaving the beautiful ikkat sarees, dress materials and fabrics that are not just homely, colourful and fashionable, but also eco-friendly.

While speaking with the media persons on this occasion she said, we need to encourage the youth to adopt the profession of weaving for the survival of the art.

"Weavers should not be confined to designing saris, they should also focus on weaving clothes with designs in tune with the fashion world. It would also help the weavers earn more money," she said.

"When I wear Pochampally sarees, I get the feeling of being close to mother," she said.

Anasuya Bharadwaj was left spellbound by the artistry of Chiluveru Ramalingam, who could weave a saree without a stitch.

August 7st is being celebrated as Handlooms Day. Anasuya urged everyone to participate and celebrate the event.
