Telangana Govt to announce massive Recruitment

Hyderabad, July 23: In a good news for Govt job seekers, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday announced that at the rate of one Panchayat Raj secretary, strictly for every village, 9,200 new village Panchayat Raj Secretaries will be recruited shortly.

The Chief Minister has instructed the officials concerned that the recruitment process should commence within a week and should be completed within two months, an official statement said here.

The Chief Minister desired that notwithstanding whether it is a small or large village, every village shall have a Panchayat Raj secretary whose basic function would be to play a key role in taking the village towards all-around progress.

The newly recruited 9,200 Panchayat Raj secretaries will be under probation for three years and would be regularized later, based on their performance only and those found non- performing will not be continued further.

Their performance will be assessed from time to time during the probation period on a continuous basis. The rule of recruitment will be done through the Panchayat Raj department and would be of district cadre.

In the state, there are 12,751 village panchayats as per the new Panchayat Act. Out of these 3562 village Panchayats have regular secretaries as of now. In the recent past, the government has created new Gram Panchayats which require secretaries. In addition, there are vacancies in old panchayats also.

The Chief Minister has decided that every village should have a secretary exclusively for it and the earlier system of one secretary holding a charge for more than one gram panchayat should be done away. As part of this, the Chief Minister said that 9,200 village Panchayat Raj secretaries will have to be recruited.
