Ayodhya verdict may kick poll results: Owaisi

New Delhi, July 15: "It was better if the Ayodhya verdict comes after the 2019 general elections as it would impact the results," said All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday.

Speaking to the media at party headquarters Darulsalam, Mr. Owaisi questioned BJP president Amit Shah's speech in Hyderabad wherein he had said that the Ram Temple would be built before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

However, Mr. Owaisi asked:

~ Are they (BJP) going to write the judgment?

~ Why are they deliberating on the judgment?

When told that the BJP has opposed that its party president has issued any such statement, Mr Owaisi said that it was the habit of the BJP to make studious and vital statements and then deny.

"Every media and news channel has telecast the news. I want to ask BJP and the honourable PM what they know that the country does not know."

Is the Supreme Court going to write the judgment (or) is it the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's court, he asked.

Mr Owaisi said that the BJP has perceived this was the only way of convert the people of the country and clinging to power.

"The writing on the wall is clear, the BJP is losing ground politically. To cast defamation on the court is absolutely wrong. The Supreme Court is deciding on the title suit and the size of the matter," stated Mr. Owaisi.

How can a ruling party president jump into conclusion on the construction of the Ram Temple?

"Every month, such a statement comes from a top leader of either the RSS (or) the BJP. It is sending a wrong message," he said.

Mr Owaisi said the BJP will be defeated in both the Telugu states. "It will not have any MLA (or) MP in Telangana," he added.
