Director R.Thyagarajan Passes Away

Chennai, July 02: Popular film director R.Thyagarajan has passed away here on Sunday. He died of heart attack in Chennai early morning. He was 74 years old. The funeral was held at the mausoleum cemetery earlier this morning.

He has also produced films with Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan. Thyagarajan was one of the most prominent producers of the Tamil film industry and has produced many films starring MGR, Kamal Hassan and Rajnikanth. In Thyagarajan's Ranga, Rajinikanth was seen playing the role of a gangster.

He has screened about 35 movies in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Tyagarajan has a wife, Subbulakshmi (30), a son and a daughter. Many film personalities have expressed regret over his death.
