BC communities serious on reservations

Hyderabad, June 26: Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh Backward Classes Welfare Associations moved the High Court questioning the inaction of the state governments and the Centre in implementing reservations in education, jobs and in local bodies.

The Telangana Backward Class Welfare Association represented by its president J. Srinivas Goud and the AP panel represented by Mr K Allmmen Raju contended that the state had to make provisions for advancement of socially and educationally backward classes by providing reservations in education, including in private educational institutions aided or unaided.

A division bench of Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice J. Uma Devi directed the registry to post the case to Tuesday along with similar petitions.
