KAALA: Rajinikanth breaks the record

Chennai, June 08: Super Star Rajinikanth Kaala marks the second collaboration of director Pa Ranjith and Rajinikanth, after Kabali.

It is known that The socio-political flick produced by Dhanush's Wunderbar Films talks about the importance of land rights and equality.

Kaala Was released here on Thursday and getting the lukewarm response from the fans. On Thursday it has broken one of the superstar films.

Coming to details, The film has collected a whopping Rs 1.76 crore in Chennai beating Vijay's Mersal's earlier record of Rs 1.52 crore. Kaala now stands at the top of the box office collection figures in Chennai. It might take another Superstar film to beat this remarkable feat.

Before Mersal, Ajith's Vivegam had registered a record box office collection on its opening day by garnering Rs 1.21 crore.
