Congress Intention about no-confidence motion against TRS...

HYDERABAD: The Congress is one of the opposition political party in India. It is planning to move a no-confidence motion against the TRS government in the winter session of the assembly beginning from December 16.

Even though it does not have the numbers to ensure victory , the aim is to embarrass the ruling party and bring about a discussion on various issues that are not being addressed by the state government, Congress sources told Media.

Another purpose of moving the no-trust motion is to force the government to allow voting on the motion to corner seven of its MLAs who have defected to the ruling TRS. A formal decision on moving the no-confidence motion will be taken by the Telangana Congress Legislature Party on Wednesday, said sources in the party. "By tomorrow, our aim is to convince floor leader K Jana Reddy, who is not very keen on the motion, to table it," they said.

Though the party won 20 assembly seats in the house of 119 in the 2014 elections, seven of its MLAs subsequently joined the TRS. Narsampet MLA Donthu Madhava Reddy, who won as an independent candidate, has since become an associate member of the Congress and, including him, the party post-defections has a total strength of 14.

Any party with the support of 10 per cent of the total strength of the house can move a no-confidence motion and the speaker has to take a decision on that after verifying the authenticity of the signatures on the notice.

"We will move the no-confidence motion with the signatures of 14 of our members along with MLAs from other supporting parties. The TRS government has failed to fulfill most of its promises made to the people before the elections," said a senior leader of the party.

According to the reports, the actual strategy of the party is to corner its MLAs who defected to the TRS government.
