27 charred to death as bus catches fire

Motiwari, May 03: At least 27 people were killed and several others injured after a fire broke out in a bus in Bihar's Motihari, According to the reports on Thursday.

According to the details, The incident happened after the bus met with an accident and overturned triggering a fire in the vehicle. The death toll is expected to rise further.

In this regard, The state disaster management minister Dinesh Chandra Yadav said that the East Champaran DM has informed him about 27 deaths in the accident.

The accident occurred under the Kotwa police station area, over 75 km from the state capital, on the National Highway 28.

"It is a really sad incident. There is a provision to give compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the next of kin of dead in such cases and it will be given," said Bihar Disaster Management and Relief Minister.
