Secunderabad Railway station secures third rank

Hyderabad, May 03: In a major achievement, The Secunderabad Railway Station ranks third in the entire network of the Indian Railways in terms of beautification of its premises with attractive local art.

The Ministry of Railways received 62 entries from 11 zonal railways after it invited nominations from stations where beautification was carried out with the participation of local artists. The evaluation committee set up to review the entries adjudged Secunderabad Railway Station as the third best station.

While the first prize went to Balharshah and Chandrapur, second prize went to Madhubani and Madurai stations. Meanwhile, Gandhidham and Kota shared the third prize with Secunderabad, according to a press release.

Secunderabad station has donned a new look steeped in the rich traditions of Cheriyal Scroll Paintings.
