Police case filed against Pawan Kalyan

Hyderabad, Apr 26: A Police case has been registered against Janasena head Pawan Kalyan in the Banjara Hills Police Station. The case was filed by the Journalists' Union for false allegations against prominent news channel TV9.

The journalists alleged that Pawan had posted videos that were not broadcast on the channel through his twitter handle, and had tried to affect the credibility of TV9.

The complaint, filed by B Mahender, the HR manager of ABN Andhra Jyothi news channel, alleged that the Jana Sena party chief was intentionally targeting the media outlet with 'forged' evidence.

"He had posted a 'forged' video clip of actress Sri Reddy abusing him from his Twitter handle. The channel had muted the video and telecast it," the complainant was quoted as saying.

The Banjara Hills police registered a case against Pawan Kalyan under sections 469, 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. Commenting upon this, the journalists said that they were satisfied that a case had been registered against Pawan. Preliminary investigation revealed that Pawan tampered with electronic evidence.

The Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) condemned the actions of the actor and his fans against media channels.
