APCC Chief open letter to PM Modi and Railway Minister

Vijayawada, Apr 26: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President N Raghuveera Reddy urged the Prime Minister and the Railway Minister to construct railway station in Srikakulam, which is the headquarters of Srikakulm district.

In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, which was released to the media here on Wednesday, the APCC President said that Srikakulam is a very backward district, which is a part of the North coastal Andhra region. This district has been included in the 177 tribal-dominated and Left wing extremism affected districts.

The railway line between Chennai and Kolkata passes through the headquarters of most of the coastal districts of AP, but unfortunately for the poor inhabitants of this town, the same railway line passes by about 15 kms away from the Srikakulam town. Hence the people of the town are facing immense hardship.

All the sections of the people in the town have been knocking at the door of all those concerned authorities requesting and pleading to consider their problem. And now they have started an agitation under the aegis of a Joint Action Committee to achieve their demand.

Mr Reddy urged them to look into the matter and take favourable decision at the earliest.
