Kings XI Punjab beat DD

Mohali, Apr 09: Opener KL Rahul's wonderful knock sealed the comfortable chase for Kings XI Punjab inside the Powerplay and Karun Nair did the rest with a fine half-century. It is certainly a great beginning to the season for Punjab under R Ashwin captaincy.

Winning the toss, Punjab option to field first and collapsed the Delhi wickets at regular intervals. Gautham Gambhir only the alone warrior in that team. He made half-century which helps Delhi a moderate score 166 in 20 overs.

That's it Kings XI Punjab (167/4) beat Delhi Daredevils (166/7) by six wickets with 7 balls to spare.

KXIP raced away to 73 for 2 in six overs. Karun Nair, who has had a mixed season, then helped himself to a 33-ball-50 as the home team reached the target in 18.5 overs. Only Yuvraj Singh's 12 off 22 balls stuck out like a sore thumb as he once again looked a pale shadow of his old self. The star of the match certainly was Rahul, who started with a top-edged six and a couple of boundaries off Trent Boult.
